Good health is vital to school progress. At certain times there are outbreaks of common childhood diseases. To prevent the spread of infection, exclusion is necessary. The number of days the student is to be absent from school for some of the more common conditions is stated below. Please inform the school if your child is suffering from any of these:

  • Chicken Pox:
Excluded for at least five days after the spots appear or until all sores are cleared or until fully recovered.

  • Conjunctivitis:
Excluded from school until all evidence of discharge from the eyes has ceased.

  • Diarrhoea:
    Excluded until diarrhoea has ceased.

  • Head Lice:
Excluded from school until treatment with anti-lice lotion or anti-lice shampoo and hair is free of nits (eggs).

  • Impetigo:
Excluded from school if on exposed surfaces (face, arms, legs).

  • Ringworm:
Excluded from school until a day after the appropriate treatment has been commenced. All sores must be covered till they disappear.
