In 2012, the Year 3-6 classes at Pagewood Public School are taking part in a Literacy program called ‘Focus on Reading'. The aim of this program is to provide students with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and experience to be able to effectively comprehend texts. Reading and understanding a variety of texts is paramount to effective learning and will provide students with the basis for a successful education.
On this page, you will find information about the ‘Super Six' comprehension strategies which all classes will be focusing on throughout the year. There are also some questions you can ask your child in order to assist them in developing their comprehension skills. The link between home and school is a vital one, and reinforcement of learning experienced at school is extremely beneficial for all students.
